Then the first location is the hardest to guess, I mean it's South of the sea of ghost, well that's all of Skyrim. You don't know it's some place with a pedestal. 82.243.194.53 12:45, 30 January 2012 (UTC) I agree with OP : first, you don't know what kind of building you're looking for. Something about casting the fire and making the sea boil or whatever. What would be the point of making such enigma if all you need to is watch your map? As for what you must do when you're at the right place, it's described in the first part of the book, if I recall. Even though the directions given in the book aren't quite clear (to say the least), it still doesn't take too much time figuring out where you need to go. Something is really wrong.- 89.23.171.73 07:15, 30 January 2012 (UTC) I think it must have been intentional. Actually compare this difficulty with an actual weakness of Master Spells. So, I would make a guess that probably quest markers were intended as in many much less complicated missions but missed. I wonder what percentage of players really did this quest by themselves. Moreover, all three places are in completely different parts of Skyrim (sometimes even having marker doesn't give you a clear direction how to approach the destination point). Not only that, it is not entirely obvious what one should do in each place. It seems that this one is the only quest without destination markers. I had the issue with the shock pedestal not working at first, i then targeted where the pedestal met the ground with my shock spell and it worked-rpbraley868 No destination markers: feature or miss? If one was to encounter the bug that is stated on the page about the shock pedestal not responding, I just tried going back to the frost pedestal and the power of the elements book spawned again, returning to the shock pedestal I was then able to complete the quest, just wondering if this worked for anyone else because if so I would like to add it to the page. ABCface ◥ 03:54, (GMT) Xbox 360 Workaround To be clear, are those of you who are getting it before level 100 playing on PC? And do you have the USKP or any other mods which may affect this? It seems Faralda's dialogue is set up not to be offered until 100. Current character is at Destruction 95 and was given the quest. There isn't much reason that this could not be a bug, save by a stretch that you can use destruction spell cost reduction enchantments to make the spells cost nothing and thus make Lighning Storm absurdly powerful against most enemies, especially with the right perks to boost its strength.- 75.207.138.165 07:15, 5 July 2012 (UTC) You don't need level 100. If any school should have this intentionally it should be Conjuration, as Dead thrall nets you an extra follower that never truly dies outside of the accompanying bugs. Ulkomaalainen 00:44, 31 December 2011 (UTC) According to all the other Ritual Spell pages, this IS the only one that may need 100 skill to begin. Unsigned comment by 75.172.56.69 ( talk) at 06:07 on 19 December 2011 Well, it either is a bug (although it's not the only school that needs 100) in which case your question is meaningless - or it is intended in which case you're gonna have to ask the programmers. it makes much more sense to get the master level spells at 90 and be able to actually use them "master" your destruction skills and then ultimately master them. Why on earth do you need 100 in destruction to begin this quest when the rest of the rituals require only 90.
